Thoughts and comments from your fellow Shore Residents

From Dora Sullivan, Local Business Owner, SouthEast Expeditions Customer, and Mayor of the Town of Cape Charles.

Dave,

Just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful experience my grandchildren had during their time at your summer kayak camp.
What an invaluable service to the community.  Top notch.
I am thankful that you chose as a person to think ahead and plan events for children that keep them entertained, educated and physically active.
It is important to me to know that you have invested so much into our community.  As a business owner I only know how difficult it can be, however; I don’t know of another way of showing how much you care for the Eastern Shore other than to invest everything you have every day of the week.

Your friend,
dora

From Donna Bozza, long time Eastern Shore Resident, Director of the Eastern Shore Tourism Commission

I have worked with Dave for a long time and have found him to be a great listener, always open to new ideas and very astute in creative problem solving. Besides being honest and above board, he has a natural gift for consensus building, a trait much needed in local government. I have seen him in action in contentious situations where he stays calm and builds- doesn't burn- bridges between diverse people and groups. For these reasons, and for his obvious love of the Eastern Shore and her people, Dave has my vote!

From Perry Kiriakos, Cape Charles Resident and Businessman

As a resident and businessman in Northampton County I have taken a great interest in all of the Eastern Shore Board of Supervisors races.  As a voter in District 2 I am excited to have a candidate running who understands the many issues that we will be facing as a community in the years to come.

As a small business owner, Dave Burden understands what it means to be an active part of the Eastern Shore economy.  In the past 9 years he has consistently grown his business in a challenging economic environment.

As an active Board Member of the Northampton County Chamber of Commerce, David Burden has been an advocate for my town, my county, and the Eastern Shore as a region.  Among his many activities with the Chamber, Mr. Burden was involved in recruiting the Eastern Shore Community College to open a campus in Cape Charles , and will be teaching an eco-tourism certification course there in the near future.

As a member of the Eastern Shore Tourism Alliance Dave Burden helped create the Cape Charles Tourism Strategy as well as the Eastern Shore Eco-Tourism strategy and has been instrumental in attracting media coverage to our region.  While I am not involved in the tourism industry, these efforts will have a positive impact on my business, and I am pleased that Mr. Burden has been working hard to help all Eastern Shore businesses.

As a participant in the DEQ Seaside Heritage Program, Dave Burden has been actively participating in promoting the scientific research that brings millions of dollars into our economy.  This type of research occurs not only in our seaside laboratories, but also throughout our thriving aquaculture industry.  With this depth of knowledge Dave Burden understands the importance of clean coastal water to our aquaculture industry and supports the growth of this vital economic engine.

As a Supervisor I believe that Dave Burden will continue to demonstrate his ability to understand all sides of the issues, his ability to work with others toward a common goal, and the leadership that has defined his work in the community.

As far as I am concerned, there is only one choice for District 2 in Northampton County .  I will be voting for Dave Burden on November 6th.  I encourage my neighbors to do the same.
